“The Spirit of ‘76” by Archibald Williams, 1875

President Donald J. Trump opened a new frontier of government transparency on February 19, 2026, when he directed the Secretary of War and all relevant federal entities to identify and release files related to:

“… alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important matters.”

The Department of War moved first with the May 8, 2026 rollout of the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE). This modern archive, along with an initial set of historical UFO documents, images, and videos, has kicked off an official disclosure process.

Congress has also asserted its constitutional role. Members have requested UAP video records from the Department of War and are investigating the public-private ecosystem of defense contractors, federally funded research and development centers (FFRDCs), and other entities known to sit near the center of the UAP secrecy regime. Disclosure is no longer merely a demand from outside the system; it has become a movement within the halls of power.

But this movement did not come from nothing. It was provoked by loyal Americans inside and outside the national security enterprise who chose constitutional duty over institutional silence. The public announcement of the Department of War’s UAP Task Force in the summer of 2020 marked a watershed moment in this struggle. Led by Jay Stratton, the UAPTF helped break through the institutional stigma and relentless interference that long silenced service members who encountered UAP. Only now emerging “Out of the Shadows” the silent professionals of the UAPTF laid much of the foundation for what followed.

Those quiet labors burst onto the public stage on July 26, 2023, when UAPTF member Major David Grusch, USAF (Ret) testified under oath before Congress about non-human intelligence, technologies of unknown origin, and a hidden government effort to manage these realities. An American hero, Mr. Grusch spoke for hundreds of quiet professionals bound by oath and circumstance. Calm, deliberate, and unflinching, his testimony changed the game: UFOs are no longer rumor, folklore, or speculation. They are a matter of sworn testimony, congressional oversight, and the constitutional rule of law.

Through his leadership David Grusch gave other government whistleblowers the courage to come forward, and permanently advanced the UAP issue from rumor and speculation into a matter of urgent public concern. That leadership continued at a recent Capitol Hill press event, where Mr. Grusch joined Representatives Tim Burchett, Anna Paulina Luna, Jared Moskowitz, and Eric Burlison, along with Leslie Kean and James Fox, in calling for President Trump to release additional UAP records, provide immunity to all UAP whistleblowers, and to confront the full reality of the UFO issue.

Parallel efforts have been made by Luis “Lue” Elizondo, the former Pentagon official whose earlier work helped bring the modern UAP issue into public view. In recent appearances and in a wide-ranging interview with Liberation Times , Elizondo has argued that there is no going back from the disclosure process. More importantly, he has pushed the conversation toward the practical requirements of whistleblowing: amnesty, immunity, and protection for whistleblowers who possess information of extraordinary public consequence but remain too exposed to come forward.

Among the most consequential public and non-public UAP whistleblowers is former U.S. Air Force intelligence specialist and BAE defense contractor Dylan Borland. Mr. Borland’s public and closed-door testimony helped move the UFO topic into the realm of legal accountability, institutional scrutiny, and lawful disclosure. His patriotic sacrifices decisively moved the United States further down the path toward official disclosure.

But the real pressure is coming from outside Washington. May 15, 2026, marked a key inflection point in the struggle for UFO disclosure and government transparency. During an event with George Knapp and Dylan Borland, investigative journalist Jeremy Corbell revealed that an active-duty intelligence officer from ODNI alleged that Mr. Borland testified to government authorities about a UFO program called Project Rubik’s Cube. According to Corbell, this ODNI officer also alleged that Project Rubik’s Cube includes UAP within its remit and involves the study of a pyramid-shaped power source of non-human intelligence origin.

In a recent appearance on American Alchemy, Corbell expanded on this reporting, revealing that the same ODNI officer claimed a hieroglyph was part of Mr. Borland’s close-door testimony to the ICIG. Furthermore, a nine month campaign to entrap and silence UAP whistleblowers by rogue elements within the intelligence community was exposed. These extraordinary claims raise urgent questions about the nature of UAP, NHI, their relationship to human history, and the integrity of our most trusted institutions. Through their reporting, Jeremy Corbell and George Knapp have forced the next stage in the fight for disclosure — and justice — into public view.

As official disclosure of the UFO reality moves from rumor to process, the American people must reclaim their rightful place at the center of constitutional government. Nearly a century of official silence, suppression, and secrecy has calcified into unthinking policy, and it will not disappear on its own. The task now belongs to an informed citizenry, civilian leaders, loyal public servants, political organizers, and a free press willing to restore constitutional government to its proper owner: the American people.
