Christopher Mellon’s released Signal screenshot — the “C/R program” / SES-2 gatekeeper message (2024)

Source: Christopher K. Mellon, “Another Signal Exchange…” (christopherkmellon.substack.com/p/another-signal-message), where Mellon published a redacted, annotated screenshot of a Signal exchange a source sent him circa 2020. Stamped “CLEARED For Open Publication, Mar 01 2024, Department of Defense, Office of Prepublication and Security Review” (case 24-P-0258). Image: https://substack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com/public/images/39739664-8455-46d3-be52-e2d0cbe60a76_2147x1520.jpeg Captured: 2026-06-22. The screenshot text was transcribed directly from the image (vision); Mellon’s redactions are marked, in his hand, “DELETED” — rendered here as [redacted]. “C/R” = crash retrieval. What this is: the actual primary behind the “Air Force SES-2 gatekeeper” thread that researchers (Gerb → Wyler) have tried to de-anonymize. Two things the primary settles: (1) “SES-2” is the source’s own wording (“the SES-2 who’s the Air Force gatekeeper”), not a later inference — but the name itself is redacted by Mellon, so any specific identification (e.g. Wyler) is a guess at the redaction; (2) the message is one unnamed source’s assertion in a 2020 text, and DOPSR “cleared for open publication” means unclassified, not verified true. Analysis: wyler-af-sensitive-activities-alleged-gatekeeper, mellon-career-and-advocacy.

Verbatim transcription of the redacted screenshot (source’s messages to Mellon, circa 2020; timestamps as shown):

[16m] “[redacted] and I are making huge progress getting into the C/R program. He plans to meet with you at some point.”

[15m] “The [redacted] would be slack-jawed if they found out what we now know.”

[Mellon annotation over a hand-drawn sketch: “[redacted]” … “45’ vs[…]” — partially cropped]

[9m] “Right now we haven’t gone that far back. We’re dealing with the recovered UAP that landed in Kingman, AZ in the 50s. We’re vacuuming up info as [redacted] read-in. We now know the management structure and security control systems and ownership of the C/R. We also know who recovers landed or crashed UAPs under what authorities. We also know that a still-highly classified memo by a Secretary of the USAF in the 1950s is still in effect to maintain the cover on UAPs.”

[8m] “We also know the SES-2 who’s the Air Force gatekeeper: [redacted]”
