What the register establishes (clean-OCR census of all 130 records)
- Span: 02 Sep 1977 → 28 Nov 1978 — REG 001 dated 02 Set 77, REG 130 dated 28 Nov 78. ~80 records fall in 1977, ~48 in 1978. The register therefore runs ~15 months, well past the tidy “operation closed after ~4 months (Oct 77 – Jan 78)” narrative — the BAF kept logging Pará OVNI observations on this register deep into late 1978.
- Phenomenology is dominated by lights. DESCRIÇÃO is ~118 “corpo luminoso” (luminous body) against only ~4–6 “Aeromóvel (OVNI)” (structured craft) and 4 explicit POUSO (landing) records (REG 019, 021, 022, 076). The military’s own catalog is mostly lights — a useful corrective to the “fleets of craft” popular image — with a small, higher-strangeness tail.
- ~32 of the 130 records are the A2/I COMAR team’s own direct observations (“Observador: Equipe do A2/I COMAR”), not civilian relays — i.e. roughly a quarter of the register is firsthand military-observer data.
- Extensive photographic documentation. Dozens of records carry photographic annexes (REG 001, 002, 004–008, 012–017, 021, 024, 027–043, 062–080, 089, 107, 120, 129, 130…), many with logged camera/exposure data: MINOLTA SRT-101, lente ROKKOR ZOOM 100/200 mm 1:5.6. This corroborates Hollanda’s later claim that the team photographed the phenomenon systematically.
