A Pentagon spokesperson responded: “The department has not found any verifiable evidence that any UAP observation represented extraterrestrial activity nor has the department discovered any verifiable information to substantiate claims that any programs regarding the possession or reverse-engineering of extraterrestrial materials have existed in the past or exist currently.”
Significance
This was the third major Congressional hearing on UAPs in two years (after May 2022 and July 2023). The pattern of hearings reflects sustained Congressional interest despite the lack of verifiable physical evidence entering the public record. Each hearing produces dramatic testimony but does not advance the evidentiary record.
