Grusch’s fullest 2023 sit-down — the long-form companion to his July-2023 testimony and whistleblower claims. Captured here because the base only had clips/coverage of it. Same evidentiary character as the rest of his record (secondhand/relayed), but it adds three things worth having on the record: the 1933 Italy retrieval in detail, the murder/reprisal account, and an explicit angels/demons theology segment (~45:30) that predates the 2026 Vance demon discourse by over two years.

The demons / theology portion (~45:30) — the antecedent

Asked about a “spiritual connection,” Grusch backs out “to the 100,000-foot level”: the phenomenon can be “quantified” theologically as “angels, demons, that kind of thing,” that many religious believers “espouse faith in that regard,” and that “what we’re seeing here with the UFO/UAP subject is probably just another facet of that same phenomenon.” He frames it as compatible with faith, citing the Vatican chief astronomer (≈2009–10) that the Vatican is “okay with non-human intelligence… it doesn’t hurt Catholic theology,” and the Vatican observatory.

This matters for the demons thread: the angels/demons framing was already in Grusch’s mouth in Dec 2023, well before JD Vance’s 2026 “UFOs are demons” remark — and Grusch’s later (2026) “theologically premature” pushback is consistent with this earlier, more measured “another facet of the same phenomenon” position. The 1933 Italy / Magenta retrieval (his one public case)

The only retrieval he’ll name: an Axis-era recovery near Magenta, Italy, 1933 — an acorn/bell-shaped “lenticular disc” whose edges broke on impact; documents Mussolini sent (to “the Italian equivalent of the Gestapo”) surfaced via early-2000s Italian researchers; Pope Pius XII, via the OSS, sent a communiqué to FDR; the US took custody at war’s end and pursued reverse-engineering. He says it was “briefed to me by a senior intelligence officer” and is the one retrieval he cleared through DoD prepublication review (he claims knowledge of “many other events” he hasn’t cleared). Directly the Magenta 1933 crash claim — and it rests on a single senior-officer briefing plus the same decades-old Italian lore the base already rates skeptically.

The murder / reprisal / “life in jeopardy” account

The serious thread: he says officers “espoused” to him that the US government hurt or killed Americans connected to the programs — “the allegation was murder… and then physical harm” — which he routed to the ICIG (“I’m hands off… you need to look into it”). On himself: three years of reprisal (ongoing reprisal investigation; lost a VA disability rating); he was surveilled and threatened (“100%… blatant”), felt “my life was in jeopardy” (what he “alluded to during the hearing”), and describes a coordinated, multi-person intimidation that hit, at the same time, “a certain other public figure known to the world” and another former intelligence officer near his home. He frames doing the interview as protective (“I don’t want to be anonymous”). A “very credible senior intelligence officer” made the killing allegation “in front of senior officials on Capitol Hill,” with Grusch “in the room.”

How to weight it

Same as his core record (the-evidence-question): the program, the biologics (“the assessment of people with direct knowledge”), the 1933 case (a briefing), and the murder allegations (others “espoused that to me”) are all relayed/secondhand — what he asserts firsthand is his own surveillance/harassment, which is unverifiable and unspecified (“can’t get into details… ongoing investigation”). The demons/theology is explicit speculation/framing, not an evidentiary claim. The Schumer-amendment politics (he names Mike Turner and Mike Rogers as blockers, and Turner’s Lockheed/Raytheon/Boeing donors) is checkable advocacy. Net: a valuable, fuller Grusch primary — historically significant for the 1933/Vatican detail and the early demons framing — but it moves no claim from asserted to established.
